Trust. Work. Joy.

At RYAN+LAMB Architects, our team of architects and technologists lead the design, delivery and strategic direction of complex projects across aviation, residential and commercial sectors.

The three core principles that define how we work at RYAN+LAMB Architects. This shapes our culture, guides our projects and influences how we collaborate every day.

Trust

The structure is fairly straightforward.

There isn’t a heavy layer of hierarchy, but there is clear responsibility. If you’re leading a project, you’re trusted to make decisions and see them through.

People are expected to be involved, to speak up and to take ownership of their work. At the same time, there’s a strong sense of support across the team, particularly when projects get complex, which they often do.

Work

We tend to work in areas where architecture has to do more than just look good.

  • Aviation, working within operational environments, tight programmes and constant movement

  • Residential, balancing density, light, planning and liveability

  • Fit-out & interiors, fast-paced, detail-focused and user-led

  • Private houses, bespoke design adapted to personal needs and the landscape.

  • Industrial & logistics, buildings that are driven by how they function first and long-term performance

It’s a mix and that keeps things interesting. It also means you need to be comfortable moving between different ways of working depending on the client and project type.

Joy

There’s always room to grow here.

As projects and responsibilities increase, roles typically evolve from lead architect to associate and senior associate positions. A lot of that progression comes down to how you handle projects, clients and teams over time.

There’s also space to shape things, whether that’s developing a sector, building client relationships or influencing how the practice operates.

We have built a team people want to be part of. A strong gender mix, a sense of balance and a genuine ease in how people work together all contribute to a better working environment and, in turn, better design output.

What you will lead

  • Projects delivered in live operational environments

  • Multi-million euro developments across residential and commercial sectors

  • Direct engagement with clients, stakeholders and delivery teams

  • Internal teams across design, BIM and delivery stages

What people are saying

“I joined at a point where I wanted more ownership over my work, and that’s definitely what you get here. You’re dealing directly with clients, coordinating teams, and figuring things out in real time, not waiting for instructions.

It’s not a rigid environment. Things move quickly, and you need to be comfortable with that, but it keeps the work interesting. You’re not stuck doing the same type of project over and over either, which makes a big difference long term.”

Laura
Architect

“What I’ve found here is that you’re actually allowed to lead. You’re not just managing drawings or feeding into someone else’s idea, you’re involved from the early conversations with the client right through to delivery on site.

The projects can be complex, especially in aviation, but that’s part of the appeal. You’re trusted to make decisions and back them up. There’s support there when you need it, but no one is looking over your shoulder all the time. It feels like a good balance.”

Aileen Boylan
Architect

“From a technical point of view, it’s a good place to work because you’re involved in how things actually come together, not just documenting them. There’s a lot of coordination across projects, so you get a proper understanding of how decisions are made and how they impact the build.

The team is open, if something isn’t working, you can raise it and it gets dealt with. You’re trusted to get on with your work, but you’re also part of the conversation, which makes a big difference.”

Benefits

Maternity Leave

We want this to be a place where people build careers, not pass through. To achieve that, the structure must support real life, not just the work. We provide full maternity pay for people who have served a certain amount of time with the company as part of our goal to help build long careers in the practice.

Pension - MyFutureFund

Starting 1 January 2026, RYAN+LAMB will offer auto-enrollment via MyFutureFund. Employees aged 23–60 earning over €20,000 who are not already in a pension scheme will be automatically enrolled. Contributions start at 1.5% from employees, matched by employers, plus a 0.5% State top-up, phasing up to 6% each over 10 years.

Professional Development

Employees have access to learning and development tools for continuous growth. Benefits like conferences, online courses and professional certificates are available annually. We see this as an investment in you, building your confidence and enhancing the performance of our team overall.

  • We offer opportunities across a range of roles within the practice, including architects, architectural technologists, designers and operations roles. While open positions vary, we are always interested in hearing from thoughtful, capable people who want to contribute to high-quality architectural work.

  • Yes. We welcome speculative applications from individuals who feel aligned with our approach to architecture and working culture. If there are no current roles listed, you can still submit your CV and portfolio for consideration. Reach out through our contact form. Depending on availability, we may schedule an introductory call with one of the team.

  • We look for people who take responsibility, engage seriously with their work and contribute positively to a team environment. Strong design thinking, attention to detail and the ability to collaborate are essential.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Not always. We consider candidates at different stages of their careers, from early-career professionals to more experienced team members. What matters most is your ability to contribute, your attitude to the work and your willingness to learn.

  • Architecture can be demanding, but we believe it should be sustainable. We aim to maintain a balanced working environment where people can do serious work without unnecessary pressure. We proactively review work allocation weekly as a team. We also protect our team’s downtime through clear communication boundaries. We encourage real breaks in the working day. To ensure people actually take their annual leave, we use a coverage model where colleagues are designated to handle urgent matters so that the person on holidays can fully unplug without returning to a mountain of stress. Although we work mainly in the studio, we encourage the entire team to work from home on a Friday to reduce their commute and ease into the weekend.

  • Working here involves being actively engaged in both design thinking and project delivery. There is an expectation that everyone contributes, regardless of level. The environment is collaborative, with a strong emphasis on responsibility, trust and producing high-quality work.

Our projects include aviation environments, multi-residential developments, private houses and commercial fit-out and interiors. Team members often gain experience across multiple sectors depending on project needs.

We’re also friendly and welcoming with an active social committee.
