Gate Clock, T1 Pier 300, Dublin Airport

The Gate Clock Bar isn’t not just as a place to stop, but as a moment of psychological pause within the terminal journey. Positioned immediately post-security, the space uses the familiar language of the traditional Irish pub to create instant recognition and comfort.

A timber and glass façade signals warmth from a distance, while the openness of the threshold removes any friction to entry, inviting passengers in without hesitation. Internally, the layout is deliberate.

Materiality plays a critical role. Copper, timber, brick and wrought iron layer authenticity and tactility, reinforcing a sense of place. Overhead elements, including the copper canopy and framed “snug”, create moments of intimacy within a high-footfall setting.
